Biography of Artist - Zhen Zhong Duan

Biography:

Duan, Zhen Zhong was born in 1944 in Anhui, China. He graduated from the Central Academy of Arts and Design in year 1969, majored in Decorative Arts and Architecture. After graduation he had been working for years as Senior Art Director with the Beijing Film Studio. Mr. Duan has also been a member of the Chinese Association of Movie Artists, a member of the Chinese Academy of Movie Artists, and a member of the Oriental Art Association, where he was Director of the Research Division for Qi Baishi-Art.

Mr. Duan’s art design had appeared in many significant movie and television productions, and had received many awards for his contribution to the Chinese movie industry. In year 1989, his art production for the movie “Waiting for Daybreak” was nominated to enter the “Golden Rooster” Award in China, which is equivalent to the American Academy Award,

Mr. Duan immigrated to the United States in year 1994. He has been an artist Member of the Brown County Art Guild Gallery in Nashville, IN since 2007, an artist Member of Oil Painters of America ( OPA ), and also an honorary professor of South China University of Technology in China. Mr. Duan is an accomplished watercolor and oil painter, specialized in landscape and architectures. His work has been exhibited internationally, such as:

Ohio state, Indiana state, Michigan state, and New York ( USA )

Sweden (Europe)

Since Mr. Duan graduated from architectural art field, his works are mostly based on classical or old-style buildings. You will enjoy the simple and tasteful old village in the mountain, the elegant and peaceful water towns along the river, or the classical European building merged into Contemporary city. From an artistic point of view, Mr. Duan has performed a perfect combination of old and new buildings arts from different eras and cultural backgrounds.

His oil paintings have also been displayed and sold by prestigious and highly respected art auction houses like Sotheby’s and Christie’s in Hong Kong.
